We utilize an “in house” laboratory as well as an outside diagnostic lab. We do fecal analysis and elisa giardia tests in our hospital. With these tests we can tell if your pet has internal parasites right away. Our experienced technicians also analyze urine samples. The doctors do needle aspirations from tumors, stain the slides and read them under the microscope for immediate answers. For more specialized diagnostics and to confirm our diagnoses we send samples to our veterinary laboratory, Antech Diagnostics, in Irvine, California. This lab picks up our samples twice daily and usually has results for us in less than 8 hours.
One of the specialized tests we offer is a genetic test to determine what breed of dog you have. We also offer vaccine titers, which are an alternative to vaccinating your pet . These test to see if your pet is immune to distemper and parvovirus or panleukopenia.
