Now that you know when to vaccinate your puppy, it's critical that you understand some of the ailments you are protecting them against with vaccinations.

Bordetella Bronchiseptica

This bacterium causes a pet to have severe fits of vomiting, whooping, and coughing. If left untreated, it causes seizures and death. Vaccines for this highly infectious bacterium are available as nasal sprays and injections.

Canine Distemper

This viral ailment often attacks the gastrointestinal (GI), respiratory, and nervous systems of canines. It's highly contagious and spreads through the coughs and sneezes of an infected pet. When the ailment is at an advanced stage, the infected pet can spread it to other pets through shared food and water bowls.

Some symptoms of this virus include diarrhea, coughing, seizures, discharge from the eyes and nose, and twitching. The ailment often causes paralysis and death. Unfortunately, distemper has no cure, that's why vaccination is critical.
