Owner | DVM
Dr. Bryan Hayter is the owner and lead veterinarian at Aliso Beach Animal Clinic. He brings a unique combination of scientific expertise, creative insight, and genuine compassion to every patient he treats.
Originally from Tustin, California, Dr. Hayter earned a Master of Fine Arts degree and published poetry in several national publications before following his lifelong love of animals into veterinary medicine. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University, where he developed strong interests in internal medicine, dentistry, and exotic-animal care.
Dr. Hayter completed an internship at the San Diego Zoo, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of species, including a panda, cheetah, cougar, and polar bear. He later completed training in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and offers this integrative treatment when appropriate for a patient’s condition.
Dr. Hayter and his wife, Catherine, are the proud parents of three children. At home, they share their lives with a Cockapoo named Skywalker and five Silkie chickens.
Clients frequently comment on Dr. Hayter’s calm demeanor, thorough explanations, and sincere concern for both pets and the people who love them.
Veterinary Technician
Abigail earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana. Growing up in a family that regularly rescued animals inspired her lifelong commitment to animal care.
At home, Abigail shares her life with three beloved cats: Simon, Teddy, and Daisy. She brings a gentle, attentive approach to every patient she cares for at the clinic.
Veterinary Technician
Sofia graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Medicine and a minor in Native American Studies. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with cheetahs in South Africa and gained valuable experience at the UC Davis Large Animal Hospital. She is currently preparing to apply to veterinary school.
Sofia’s home is filled with animals, including her dog, Lady; her cat, Coco; and her corn snake, Poppy. She is known for her calm presence and genuine enthusiasm for helping pets feel safe and comfortable.
CSR/Office Manager
Heather graduated from California State University, Long Beach, and has worked in the pet-care field throughout her adult life. Her home has long been known by neighbors as a “petting zoo” because of the many exotic pets she has cared for over the years.
Heather currently shares her home with a leopard gecko, bearded dragon, hognose snake, White’s tree frog, three rabbits, and two cats. Her warm personality, extensive animal experience, and organizational skills help keep the clinic running smoothly while making every client feel welcome.
